What’s All This About?
I’m No Gossip
I take your privacy seriously. Very seriously. You can be sure that unless it’s required by law, I won’t be sharing your info with any third parties. Ever.
What I Have on You
It’s not all that much, really.
When you send me a message via the contact form on this site, I receive an email with your name and email address.
When you email me directly, I receive your name and email address.
When I send you an invoice via email, it contains your name, business name and business address.
What I do with It
- Use your name and email address to communicate with you via email about your project and my services.
- Include your name, business name and business address in the invoices I send you by email.
- Store it for my records and HMRC. For tax purposes, I’m legally required to hold this information about you for seven years. If you’d like this information to be securely destroyed after this time, just contact me at email@example.com.
Your information is stored securely on my computer. While it’s not Fort Knox, it’s encrypted, password protected, has up-to-date anti-virus software, and I’m the only one who uses it.
I also back up my files on an external encrypted hard drive.
No, not those kind of cookies.
Cookies are small pieces of information in text file format that are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your computer’s hard drive.
This website doesn’t use any first-party (Melissa D’Anzieri) cookies or collect any personally identifiable information.
However, I have some links in my portfolio to some of my work hosted on YouTube. Embedding videos from YouTube means my site has the following third-party (YouTube) marketing cookies:
Registers a unique ID on mobile devices to enable tracking based on geographical GPS location.
Estimates the user’s’ bandwidth on pages with integrated YouTube videos.
Registers a unique ID to keep statistics of what videos from YouTube the user has viewed.
Stores the user’s video player preferences using embedded YouTube videos.
You can choose whether or not you wish to accept these cookies when you view my website.
Marketing and GDPR
From time to time I may send a personalised email to an individual at their business email address to market my services. I only contact those who can be seen to have legitimate interest in copywriting or screenwriting services.
I do not have a newsletter or send generic marketing emails. In other words, if we’re not currently working together on a project, you won’t hear from me much. Just shout if you need me.
Links to Other Websites
I’m exempt from ICO registration due to only processing personal data for the core business purposes.
Want to Talk to Me About This?
Feel free to get in touch with me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you need further clarification, to request a copy of the information I hold about you, or no longer want to be contacted by me.
